Maintenance and Repairs

Over time, dust and grit accumulate inside your clock. Oil dries out or mixes with dust to form a grinding paste in the bearings clogging up the movement and causing damage. Regular maintenance will ensure it runs smoothly and keeps time. We recommend having your clock serviced at least once every three to five years.

All our labour is carried out in a workshop well-equipped to handle any horological repairs necessary, including the making of replacement parts.

Relocating a clock

Moving a clock might seem an easy task and all going well it should be, however there are a few things to take into consideration:

  • Before moving the clock, any free parts should be removed and packed carefully. This includes weights and pendulums.
  • Upon arrival to its new locaton, a pendulum clock should be levelled and then the beat adjusted.

How you pack and move the clock will make a difference to its time keeping when the move is over.

If you need to transport a clock and don't know where to start; or you want someone to take care of your precious and quite likely large time piece; or just have an inquiry, send an email or call for more information.
